Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy can be used to treat spider veins, and sometimes varicose veins.  Spider veins are very common, and while usually not painful, can be unsightly or embarrassing.

Sclerotherapy is a very common treatment for vein problems, and is very simple.  A specialized medication is injected into a vein, irritating it and causing it to collapse.  Sclerotherapy can be performed in combination with other procedures or treatments.

No pain medicine is needed, and it is performed in a doctor’s office.  After the vein collapses, it forms a clot that is naturally absorbed by the body.  The blood that traveled in the closed vein is redirected to properly working veins.

Some patients require more than one sclerotherapy session, and the number of injections during each session can vary.  There can be minimal bruising or short-term discomfort that disappears within a week or two.  Normal activities can be resumed immediately.

Our goal is to permanently and painlessly fix your spider veins as quickly and painlessly as possible!
